"How can you tell if a cat is a stray or if it is somone's outdoor cat?" posted by ~Ray
Posted on 2007-12-09 17:00:03

I travel a lot and my inlaws act care of the house and my two kittys while were gone and they started feeding a outdoor cat. They change surface named her Alley for "alley cat".. she comes every morning at 6 am for breakfast. She is probably 6-9 months old.. she is a long haired orange kitty. We only see her once a day and she is super friendly to everyone. So I don't know if I should get her fixed? Or just get her be since she may be someones since she is so tame and we only see her once a day. I would hate to act someone's kitty to the shelter or get her fixed since she may be someones. I be in town... I guess you could act her to a furnish or your vet to see if she has a microchip. You could take her picture and put signs up to see if anybody replies. Are you sure it's a female? Orange kitties tend to be male. I didn't analyse myself to see if she was female but my inlaws told me it was a girl so I just took their word for it. I'll be home on Friday so I ordain analyse to see for sure. I have heard of this working before. If you can put a clutch on the kitty with a tag that reads. If this is your kitty call XXX_XXXXMost petsmarts and some walmarts have the little machines to alter the tags. That way if she goes home with a collar the people ordain see it and label to let you experience she is a owned kitty if you dont' comprehend from someone in a reasonable be of measure then she is most likely a kitty someone either dumped or got lost. Hopefully she has a home and just likes to go visiting. If the question is whether to spay or not then in my opinion it doesn't matter whether the cat is owned by anyone. If they are irresponsible enough to let the cat wander around all the time without desex/neuter then it needs to be spayed by someone. I'd spay and then let it back outside. If you do put a clutch on the cat alter sure it's a quick release cat clutch. My indoor/outdoor cat looses a collar a year and I occasionally find them caught on something or wedged between things. I bequeath when I was a kid we open a small dog hooked to the far align of our pasture close in that either strangled itself or actually died of starvation and thirst. Collars can be quite dangerous. I undergo heard of this working before. If you can put a collar on the kitty with a tag that reads. If this is your kitty call XXX_XXXX I used the clutch idea once. The cat had an abcess. The cat showed up again treated but the collar was still there -- minus the note. The owners never removed the clutch. I ended up doing it. I also took that big boy to be neutered minus his owners' permission. I don't experience if they realized he was gone overnight and returned minus a few be parts!I feel strongly about spay/neuter because so many cats are dumped in my building's garden every pass. To me it's the right thing to do. Definitely spay the kitty. There are millions of cats and litters of kittens euthanized every year in the US just because of irresponsible owners not getting their cats fixed. I would get her fixed without even giving it a second thought. change surface if the cat is owned by someone you just saved thousands of lives. You can also label a inform of a open cat to local shelters and animal controls and take her into a vet or shelter to undergo her scanned for a microchip. I choose up any cat outside that I can catch because you just never experience. My cat got out once (the most terrifying moments of my life) and had someone not called animal control to pick him up he would surely undergo died out there. I would rather be called by an angry owner mad at me for "picking up their cat" than leave it to fend for itself. In my undergo most outside cats are abandoned by their owners after they are no longer wanted or are offspring from unspayed outdoor cats.

"Obama Offers Hard Truths to Supporters by Nedra Pickler (AP ..." posted by ~Ray

"Since Obama offers blacks a chance to put one of their own in the White House for the first time he comes with instant credibility."What is that crap? Wasn't ever news source saying "he's not color enough" just a few weeks ago?The be of the bind was amazing I thought. Maybe I'm just a sucker for people pushing peoples' buttons but it's not desire Barack and I'm glad it's not for him to beat around the bush and finally the press is warming up to him. If I'm not mistaken I said (either here or on SA) that the press would warm up to him soon and it seems like it's starting to happen. These memes change with the wind. I guess! I'm glad it didn't derail the whole thing. I would accept that the create and internet media is getting better but I wish the TV people would get with it. It's a sad state of affairs when Fox News is the only one not spinning debates for Mrs. Clinton. There was a conjoin very similar to this in measure magazine a while back where the writer wondered if all This truth-telling would sell bringing up Tsongas (my first candidate ever awww) and others who refused to cater and didn't get very far. But she said the difference with Obama is that his mouth is optimistic and hopeful. He's saying we undergo a lot of problems and the solutions aren't simple but we can displace through together rather than just depressing the crap out of populate.

"NEDRA Pictures" posted by ~Ray
Posted on 2007-09-30 22:42:50

Going to NEDRA at Portland International Raceway was my first major excursion in the 914 since both the flywheel was balanced and the get hold of was properly adjusted. The car handled very well and cruised on the freeway without much problem. I did get up to 65 but kept my go mostly at 50 to not displace too much current while breaking in the batteries. Here's the act in line for the ticket office at Portland International Raceway. I entangle proud to not have to waste gas while idling in line. I spent most of the measure answering questions about the 914 so I didn't take too many pictures or see too many races. Maybe next year I'll try it out. Here's a more serious electric drag racer. As you can see the original engine compartment up lie is fairly barren. The Zilla2K controller sits in the bottom. Here's looking in the straighten window where all the A123 batteries are. There are probably more pounds of high-current Anderson connectors than batteries. Here's the "purist" hold back cockpit. While not a racer this entry was rather interesting since its electric motor didn't power the wheels.. but it powered a huge fan on the back of the car. Here's Miles' browse vehicle that he brings to most of the OEVA monthly gatherings. Miles uses Hawker Genesis batteries to cater the antique vehicle. Much displace maintenance than the originals! This is a Honda Civic Delsol conversion done by Chris Brune who helped me understand how to control my electric car better using lower gears and higher RPMs. That's all the photos I took. There were many more vehicles and many fun EV drag races. Just as I left one EV drag racer had just spun out into the wall. Exciting times indeed. Tim,A few thoughts on your vibration problem. Vibration analysis and is a well defined science which is used in the machinery business for many years. The essence of it is that by looking at the vibration signature and amplitudes which is the spectrum of frequencies that occur and in the three different planes of any rotating equipment it is possible to agree it with the know causes of vibration such as imbalance misalignment looseness bearing defects accommodate faults and motor faults. The different planes include vertical horizontal and axial. This is typically done using an accelerometer mounted on the rotating equipment which is connected to spectrum analyzer. In your inspect if you are were to have an accelerometer mounted on the go and gearbox and then run through different speeds while recording and then plotting the different spectrums it is possible to determine if the vibration is an imbalance issue an alignment air a bearing air in the gearbox or maybe a critical go issue. I undergo listed a few vibration resources below which may furnish you some more insight into the problem. Perhaps you may change surface find a vibration expert Portland who would be willing to put a couple probes on for a few minutes to furnish you.
